494th Tactical Fighter Squadron F-111 Aardvark Dessrt Shield / Storm Air Force Challenge Coin

This coin is 1 1/2 inches in diameter.  A super rare F-111 Fighter Squadron challenge coin.

This came out in 1991 about the time the unit was changing from a Tactical Fighter Squadron to Fighter Squadron.

  -- 494th insignia shape is that of the Tactical Fighter Squadron, but has Fighter Squadron written at the bottom of the insignia.

  -- On the flipside of coin it has 48th Tactical Fighter Wing  which means the squadrons should be the same, tactical fighter squadron.

-- 494th flew the F-111 until 1992.

This is an awesome fighter squadron challenge coin for the collector.
